Understanding Anxiety – And How I Can Help

Anxiety is one of the most common emotional challenges people face today. Whether it’s a persistent feeling of unease or sudden waves of panic, anxiety can interfere with your relationships, work, sleep, and quality of life. The good news is: you don’t have to live with it forever. Help is available, and healing is possible.

What Is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural human response to stress or perceived danger. It becomes a problem when it feels overwhelming, constant, or starts affecting daily life. You might notice racing thoughts, a tight chest, trouble sleeping, or a constant sense that something bad is about to happen — even if nothing’s wrong.

Anxiety can be triggered by specific situations or appear without any clear cause. It can feel exhausting, confusing, and lonely — but you’re not alone.

Types of Anxiety

There are several types of anxiety, and each person’s experience is unique. Some of the most common forms include:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) – Constant worry about everyday things.

  • Social Anxiety – Fear of being judged or embarrassed in social situations.

  •  Panic Disorder – Sudden, intense panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere.

  • Health Anxiety – Excessive worrying about having a serious illness.

  • Phobias – Strong fear of specific objects or situations (e.g., flying, driving, heights).

  • Separation Anxiety – Intense fear of being away from loved ones.

  • Corporate job anxiety.

Understanding the root of your anxiety is the first step toward finding relief.

How I Can Help

As a therapist, I offer a safe and compassionate space where we work together to gently uncover the causes of your anxiety and bring real, lasting change. I use a range of effective, evidence-based techniques tailored to your needs, including:

Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind — where anxiety patterns often begin. It helps you relax deeply, reframe old beliefs, and regain a sense of inner calm and safety.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps identify and shift negative thought patterns that fuel anxiety. Together, we build healthier, more empowering ways to respond to stress and uncertainty.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) known as “tapping”, EFT helps reduce anxiety by calming the nervous system. It’s gentle, effective, and can even be used at home between sessions.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)  helps rewire your inner dialogue and responses to anxious triggers, so you can feel more confident, in control, and grounded.

You’re Not Alone

Whatever form your anxiety takes, there is a way forward. Together, we’ll uncover the deeper causes of your worry, release old patterns, and help you reconnect with peace, clarity, and joy.
